CHECK THE FRUIT!

"So if the tree is good, it will produce good fruit; but if the tree is bad, it will bear only rotten fruit and it deserves to be cut down and burned. Look at the obvious fruit of their lives and ministries, and then you’ll know whether they are true or false." (Matthew 7:17‭-‬20 TPT)

Don't trust just the words. Check the fruit. The fruit will tell you the health of the person, the ministry, the relationship. The fruit tells you everything. Words and actions can be manipulated, but fruit always tells the truth. When the fruit, words and actions don't match, trust the fruit.

“Be wary of false preachers who smile a lot, dripping with practiced sincerity. Chances are they are out to rip you off some way or other. Don’t be impressed with charisma; look for character. Who preachers are is the main thing, not what they say. A genuine leader will never exploit your emotions or your pocketbook. These diseased trees with their bad apples are going to be chopped down and burned.” (Matthew 7:15-20 MSG)
