GOD, ME, AND TEA!

"TO EVERYTHING there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven." (Ecclesiastes 3:1 AMPC)

I've been thinking about transitions and want to share some thoughts. I pray they will be an encouragement to all of us.

"A man's mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure." (Proverbs 16:9 AMPC)

Transitions are necessary but usually avoided, sometimes at all costs. We're so comfortable with the familiar and find it hard to let go. Sometimes we try to box God into answering our prayers and moving in our lives like we want or the same way He’s done it before. Of course we can't box Him in! However, when we look for the answer to be what we want we can miss what God is doing in us, for us, and through us.

"The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step]." (Psalm 37:23 AMPC)

I've learned through these almost 10 years of unemployment, a very unexpected transition, that God is still in control, He can be trusted, and most importantly He is up to something in my life, and in me. He has met every need and some heart's desires through this time. I can declare like David:

"I have been young and now am old, yet have I not seen the [uncompromisingly] righteous forsaken or their seed begging bread." (Psalm 37:25 AMPC)

My heart is fixed on Him with Great Expectations and anticipation knowing God promises:

"I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for." (Jeremiah 29:10-11 MSG)

In the meantime I will continue to call on Him trusting this promise:

"When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree. “I’ll turn things around for you." (Jeremiah 29:12-14 MSG)
