SUPPORTING THE WORD!

Updated: Nov 10, 2022

Those that pull on our gifts, our time, our counsel should be moved to support the ministry we bring whether at a gathering or when it is one-on-one.

The Word is clear on this:

"Let him who receives instruction in the Word [of God] share all good things with his teacher [contributing to his support]." (Galatians 6:6 AMPC)

"Be very sure now, you who have been trained to a self-sufficient maturity, that you enter into a generous common life with those who have trained you, sharing all the good things that you have and experience." (Galatians 6:6 MSG)

When was the last time you thanked the minister who has consistently poured into your life? It's not just about money, it's about writing a note of thanks, calling them, maybe taking them to eat a meal, praying for them, and yes you can financially support their ministry if God leads you to do so. Ask God how you can bless those that selflessly bless you, give to you, care for your spiritual growth, and care for you.

Let's be aware that the gifts ministers give, that may be taken for granted, costs them daily to give. We spend time in prayer, the Word, preparation, seeking God for those He's given us to impact. I know personally the time it takes me to write for Daily Encouraging Words by Leisa, and my website, you would be surprised if I broke it down to you. It's a labor of love - love for God, His Word, and His people.

This is my assignment and my focus:

But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word. (Acts 6:4 KJV)

This is God's plan for supporting the Gospel being preached and taught:

"Do you not know that those men who are employed in the services of the temple get their food from the temple? And that those who tend the altar share with the altar [in the offerings brought]? [On the same principle] the Lord directed that those who publish the good news (the Gospel) should live (get their maintenance) by the Gospel." (1st Corinthians 9:13-14 AMPC)

(Note: I am not talking about churches here but ministries that sow into lives tirelessly, usually one-on-one and other means that may not include a platform in a church.)

Prayerfully consider how you can support, encourage, and bless those who consistently support, encourage, and bless you.

Be Encouraged! ❤
