"No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy]." (1 Corinthians 10:13 AMPC)
As many times as I've read this verse, I missed the impact of the last part of the verse.
There are some key points in this:
He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability to resist - this means we have the power to resist any temptation. If we're being tempted God has already determined that the temptation cannot and will not overcome us!
God will provide a way out - there IS a way out! We must choose the way out. That means whether we prevail over, or succumb to, the temptation is totally up to us. God will provide a way out so walk in His way out.
We can endure temptation - we can put up with it successfully and we will overcome it by CHOICE! God has given us everything we need to walk through it without being impacted by it!
"No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it." (1 Corinthians 10:13 MSG)
