Stop making excuses for people and accept the truth of their behavior and don't be swayed by their words. When words and actions don't align there is a problem. Don't ignore the signs.
Love them. Forgive them. Extend grace to them. However, neither love, forgiveness, nor grace require continued connection if the situation is abusive spiritually, mentally, emotionally, or physically. Always be led by Holy Spirit, and not your feelings, because nothing catches Him by surprise.
When people abuse you or use you disconnect. Do it in love but disconnect. Even in this you must honor God. You're responsible for your behavior, not theirs.
Jesus had 12 disciples who had access to Him intimately. No one should have that kind of access to you. Jesus also walked away when what He said, and what He was doing, wasn't received. It wasn't that He didn't want to do, or couldn't do, great miracles in places, it was He wasn't accepted there. Miracles require faith and acceptance of who He is and what He can do. It was true then and it's true now.
Know your value. Don't let anyone discount that value. Jesus paid a dear price to give you that value. Don't wear it casually. Wear your robe of righteousness boldly and to the glory of God.
Our thoughts, words, and actions should glorify God. How you're being treated should also glorify God.
Let this be the litmus test of whether you need to stay connected or disconnect:
Ask yourself:
Does this situation glorify God?
Do I have peace?
