THE IMPORTANCE OF ASSOCIATIONS AND ACTIVITIES!

Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction? (Amos 3:3 NLT)

Agreeing – living in concord; concurring; assenting; settling by consent (Noah Webster 1828 Dictionary)

Agreement is key. Without it nothing will be accomplished. You’re just spinning your wheels, exerting energy, but going nowhere.

“If you are going to make it to your dream, you are going to have to disassociate yourself from certain people and places. You have to disassociate yourself from people who aren’t going anywhere and don’t want to go anywhere in life. It is crucial for you to guard your heart, thoughts, attitudes, and ideas from being sabotaged by those around you.” (Dr. Myles Munroe)

FAITH CONFESSION:

I must protect my dream by assessing who I am associated with, where I am going, and what I am doing. Are these people and activities fostering an environment for my dream to grow in and become a reality? Am I moving forward or staying stagnant? Have I gotten comfortable and am no longer pushing, pursuing, the next level?

“When you start pursuing God’s vision for your life, sometimes you have to change who your close friends are because you’re not speaking the same language any longer. Choose people who want you to go where you want to go. Let them be your encouragement.” (Dr. Myles Munroe)

If I don’t watch my associations and activities, I can become distracted by good things at the expense of God things. I need people around me that will encourage forward movement and challenge me to be more. I also need to make sure I encourage and challenge others who are pursuing their dream.

I must prayerfully determine my activities and associations to know what I should give my time to. It’s important for me to know if the activities and associations move me toward fulfilling my dream or away from fulfilling it. This must be a determining factor in what I say yes or no to. I must make sure I’m continually working on my God given dream, vision, and purpose.
